President Steenkamp: Good things are growing at RRU
We’ve kicked off our spring Vision in Bloom campaign with the unveiling of our new kitchen garden — impressively built in just two days as you can see from my video this week. This small but mighty plot will soon grow into an edible landscape that will help feed and sustain friends and neighbors in our community. It was a great honour to join Food Systems Manager Solara Goldwynn and dig in. If you’re interested in lending a hand, please contact Solara to be added to our list of volunteers.
This year, the university hopes to raise an additional $250,000 to continue the work and begin several large multi-year projects, including significant expansion to the Japanese Gardens and restoration of the Glass House, an original greenhouse from the Dunsmuir era that has been in continuous use for more than 100 years. There are many ways to support A Vision in Bloom.
